Standard
 |
The standard desiccant will solve most filtration problems. It is an attapulgite clay which is a stabilized crystal that provides excellent filtration of hydrocarbons and moisture. It has the uncanny ability to adsorb oil while it adsorbs moisture. At full flow rate it traps all contaminants - oil vapors, water and hydrocarbons. The filter disc in the top of the element removes particles as small as 0.3 microns. Changes color like a sponge when it becomes wet - it gets darker from the bottom of the element to the top. Also, will turn the color of the oil within your air system from the bottom of the element to the top.

Silica Gel
 |
Moisture only and minus dew point - in process streams with a refrigerated dryer upstream and without hydrocarbons, silica gel is effective in removing residual moisture and lowering dew point from 0 to -40° C, not recommended for dew point levels greater than 40° F. Changes color from blue to pink when in contact with moisture. Can be regenerated about 3 to 5 times in conventional oven at 200-220° F for 1½ to 2 hours. In dual element filters such as the T-60 and all the in-line filters, a silica gel element can be used after a standard element removes the hydrocarbons. |
Activated Carbon
 |
Odor removal - for dual element filter such as the F-T60C and all In-Lines, carbon elements can be used downstream of a standard element to remove odors from the process stream. Activated Carbon does not remove water. |
| Specialty Filter |
Beach filters can design custom elements using other special fills on request. |
